This Chapter had started already around November. By coinsident I found an event in Facebook saying Solomun is coming to play in Madrid some few days before christmas. So I decided to take the chance and asked an italian friend of mine to join me for a Trip to Madrid. Especially we do have a fable for that type of music I was hoping to convince her. Fortunately she has a really good friend who lives in Madrid and with the intention to visit her we booked the flights to Madrid and the tickets for Solomun.

A place to be during sunny days is the MONUMENTO A ALFONSO XII DE ESPANA. Right in front of the lake and in the heart of the EL RETIRO PARK you may enjoy the sun while sitting or laying on the stairs.

Totally worth it to buy tickets for Solomun. Although I was confused about some young age guests and annoyed of the many vip-zones surrounding the dancefloor.

2. DAY:
For a very few money you can have a really good breakfast. The menu is originally created as a short edition of the New York Times and well-illustriated. Recommend the yoghurt with berries!

MAMA FRAMBOISE PLATEA
Calle de Fernando VI 23

A very special place for the spanish people. Celebrating New Years Eve in Spain means to be with your familiy and with the bell and the beginning of the new year, it is a tradtion to eat Twelve Grapes as fast as possible. The new year’s celebration at the PUERTA DEL SOL is broadcasted for years, so all the families at home can celebrate it together before going out with friends.

PALACIO DE REAL MADRID
Owned by a cousin of a friend of the spanish friend we visited, we had the pleasure to enjoy the food creations 80 GRADOS provides. Very original and tasty compositions and everything for a really small price! Located in Malasaña, the more alternative district of Madrid. A must-go

3. DAY:
In the district of fine arts and near to the EL RETIRO PARK you find this cozy and familiar coffee place called IL TAVOLO VERDE. You should definitely stop for a late breakfast or just a coffee.

Calle Villalar 6

10 to 15 Euro is the entrance to get the access to use the elevator up to the rooftop bar of the Hotel ME Madrid Reina Victoria. The price includes a standard cocktail but with a bit of luck and persuasiveness you might get a cocktail of the house. For being there by night and during the night you can enjoy the music and the drink. But there is no point where I would say, that you get a good view over the city. Nevertheless for rooftop- and cocktail-lovers a place to go.

Plaza Sta. Ana, 14

Thanks to our lovely host we got into the taste of a spanish cider. Especially the way of pouring the cider into the glass was a funny thing. The second floor of the MERCADO DE SAN ANTON offers some few tapas-bars where you can have some food for the little hunger.

The last stop for the night was the Terrace on the Top of the MERCADO DE SAN ANTON. No entrance for a relaxed atmosphere on a beautiful decorated rooftop.

SUMMARY
I must admit, that I’m really impressed of Madrid as a charming metropole. The variety of everything reminds me of Berlin in less alternative. But in the few days I had I’m convinced that you might find everything you’re looking for a good life in this city.
Madrid. How knows. Maybe one day — the two of us.
