After traveling several times to Lisbon I do really appreciate the weekends I'm there. As I really do love to stay in the LISBOA'S CALLING hostel if no friends' place is available I do now also have some special places I would like to talk about.
adress
Rua de Sao Paulo, 126 - floor 3D
1200-429 Lisboa, Portugal
PLACES
Castelo de Sao Jorge - there you have a beautiful view over Lissabon and the sunset there is quite amazing. For students the entrance is 5€ because it's of course one of the main attractions also for tourists.
adress
Rua de Santa Cruz do Castelo
1100-129 Lisboa, Portugal
Miradouro do Chao do Loureiro - The view itself is not the one I recommend but you will find inside the multistory parking garage on each floor one street art artist, mainly from Portugal who was allowed to exhibit his work.
adress
Calçada do Marquês de Tancos
Lisboa, Portugal
Miradouro de Santa Luzia - especially in spring and summertime the location is really colorful because of all the violet trees. Take your time and enjoy the portuguese sun.
adress
Largo Santa Luzia
1100-487 Lisboa, Portugal
Santiago - after visiting the Castelo you should head in the east direction. There you find some art leftovers and underground places probably used for some parties or maybe just a meeting point.
Praia do Guincho - in the summer a really nice spot to go. You find there a lot of kit-surfer and portuguese people who go to beaches where there are less tourists. Because you might need a car to go there.
adress
Praia do Guincho
2750-642 Guincho,Portugal
RESTAURANTS
Taqueria Pistola y Corazon - probably the best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. Everytime I am in Lissabon I need to go there. You cannot book a table before so you should go there early (latest 8.30), write your name on the blackboard and wait at the bar of the restaurant or at the bar in front of the restaurant and drink an aperetif in the mean time.
adress
Rua Alecrim 19
Lisbon, Portugal
BARS & CLUBS
Pensao Amor - located in the pink street and the former redlight-establishment has been transformed into a house of art and does nowadays open its doors around midnight for people who want to have drink at their bar. The interior is amazing and you can feel the redlight history in there, but watch out, the drinks are quite expensive so better ask twice if you didn't understand the price. For starting the night after perfect.
adress
Rua da Boavista 16
Lisboa, Portugal
open
Breakfast: Sunday 12h-15h
Lunch: Tuesday to Friday | 12 pm - 3 pm
Dinner: Monday to Sunday 6pm-00am
Bairro Alto - of course THE hotspot of Lisbon's nightlife. All the bars are located there but the nightlife is mainly on the streets in front of the bars. After the new law bars have to close nowadays around 12 (sunday-thursday) and at 2am on the weekends.
Musicbox - for techno fans a good address to go to. Had some great nights there and is opened quite long.
adress
Rua Nova do Carvalho 24
1200-292 Lisboa, Portugal
