There was a time… Remember the first time living not any more at your parents house. After a couple of time you find this one place you go because it give you the feeling of a second home. You become familiar with the staff and you might even know there names. Sometimes you go just for a quick coffee and sometimes you just pass by and say hi to the familiar faces. Sometimes you take your friends to this place. It’s like a kind relation just without any obligations.

„Duas de letra“ is a restaurant, café and meeting point for artists and all kind of open-minded people around the world. It’s located in front of the Jardim de São Lázaro near the university „Belas Artes“. It’s not a touristic place but it’s still really international. You meet here a lot of sophisticated and artistic people chatting in the small patio in the back of the restaurant. It does exactly represent the concept of the portuguese meaning of „Duas de letra“:

„Duas de letra is a typical portuguese expression people use if they want to express their intention to meet with a friend for a small talk. It is only used in the northern part of portugal - tomar um cafe para dar duas de letra“

Beringela Bela (stuffed with vegies)

The restaurant offers a daily dish for 6€/8€ (lunch/dinner) that includes a soup, bread, the daily dish and a drink. There exist always two option, one is a vegetarian. Upstairs you find a big room for having a dinner in a bigger group. It is also used to as an arts & crafts boutique and the actual art gallery. Sometimes „Duas de letra“ organize small concerts, workshops, film screenings and debates occur sporadically. Also, there’s yoga classes four times a week (reservation required).

So for all the Yoga enthusiasts should go there to shedule.
