It started that a friend asked me if I want to join the concert of band “The Cat Empire”. I remembered that I have some tunes on my laptop so I said spontaneous yes. So without any expectation I meet the friend in front of the Sao Bento Station to walk together to HARD CLUB. The night should be amazing.

The former market place called Ferreira Borges Market is nowadays the location for the HARD CLUB and is located near the Palacio da Bolsa. The doors opened at 9.30pm and we arrived around 10.30pm. Ten minutes later “The Cat Empire” entered the stage supported by “The Empire Horns” who are usually accompanying “The Cat Empire” on live Gigs. From the first second the Band spread good vibrations.

One of the first songs was “Sleep won’t sleep” and is a perfect example for the good vibrations. The kind of live-jazz with the Cuban music influence is so well-performed by the band that you can’t stand still. After plenty of concerts I visited it was the first vocal-solo I was attending and it was great. Sure it was supported by the drums and a bit by the piano but nevertheless, I was impressed. With the song “Still Young” “The Cat Empire” left after almost two hours the stage. The crowd was still singing and because they seemed so impressed by the audience in the small halls of the HARD CLUB, they decided to play some few more songs (watch the video).

So, in conclusion I can suggest everyone to go to a live concert of “The Cat Empire” if they play somewhere around.
